In the food and pharmaceutical industries, lubricants are used in the lubrication and maintenance of machinery and equipment for the production and treatment of food, food contact materials, animal feed, pharmaceutical products and cosmetics, as well as by suppliers of equipment, machinery and packaging for these industries.
In these applications, it is sometimes unavoidable that the lubricant may come into contact with the end product (food). Thus, lubricants must withstand challenges such as the influence of moisture, extreme temperatures, aggressive media as well as cleaners and disinfectants.
